Cibola’s own winter dance, Boots and Boogie, is coming up! It will be held on February 1st, from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm in the concourse. The theme is country, and there will be more country and line dances than usual, although there will be other types of music and dancing, too. Food and drink will be available at the event. The proceeds from this dance will go to purchasing academic awards and other items related to graduation.
The dress code is relaxed; jeans, sneakers, hats, and of course boots, are all deemed appropriate. However, sunglasses, purses, and coats are not allowed. The line will be inside the building so that nobody will need to bring a coat.
All grades are permitted to bring a guest to the dance. Guests must fill out a permission form, and it must be turned in the Monday before the dance, 1/26/25. Once the guest is approved, a link to your guest ticket will be sent to the Cibola student who is bringing the guest. No guests are allowed who are either below high school age or above the age of 19. Tickets may sell out, so secure yours as soon as you can.
The other rules are as follows:
No drug/alcohol use, no fighting, no hostility towards school staff.
No dancing that is overly sexual in nature.
To buy your tickets, visit this site. This is for Cibola students ONLY. Cibola Student Ticket Purchase
To get tickets for your non-Cibola guest, print and fill out this form, and turn it in to Ms. Chavez the Monday before the dance. Non-Cibola Guest Form
Please follow the rules so that we can see more dances like this in the future. This is the first winter dance since 2018, and we hope this dance might start a new tradition. Buy your tickets while you can, Cougars!
