Mock interviews are coming up for sophomores! Along with bringing your resume, cover letter, and application, you need be dressed professionally.
The dress code for professional, business attire includes:
- Dress shoes
- Slacks or khaki pants for men
- Appropriate length skirt for women
- Polo or button-up shirt
- Appropriate jacket
- Clean, ironed clothes
- Neat hair and appearance
The most important of these items is a polo. A jacket or incorrect shoes can be overseen, but a graphic tee will not so easily be forgotten. It’s best to try to look professional, even if you do not have all of the items.
If you don’t have one or more of these items, there are still affordable ways to get them. Cougar Closet has a nice selection of formal wear such as pants, polos, jackets, and dress shoes. Make an appointment with Dr. Mac to get in. Other options include Goodwill, Savers, and other bargain clothing stores. Expect to spend $15 for every item in good condition.
